# GPS Spoofing
The first GPS spoofing attack happened in the Black Sea in 2017. This is possible when a spoofer gains control over the satellite receivers in the area and then changes the signal output. GPS spoofing is more dangerous than jamming because you believe everything is working as intended. The trust in the GPS device is not broken with a spoof[^1].
